CIE is a bag brand from Osaka, started in 2017 by LIAL WORKS, a company run by two designers who had worked at master-piece and AS2OV. The name is the initials of cause in effect, and the brand’s own keyword is real goods: bags made to be used every day rather than looked at.
The bags are sewn in Japan from coated nylon, four-layer water-repellent nylon, Cordura and polyester, with as little leather and metal as the design allows, so even a full-size backpack stays light. The range runs from micro shoulder bags to carry-on trolleys, in series with short names: GRID-3, Flow, Various, Leap, Weather. Most sizes take a laptop, and several carry a bottle holder on the outside.
Why we stock CIE
A laptop, a charger, a bottle and a jacket, in a bag that weighs almost nothing and does not mind rain. CIE builds exactly that, in Japan, with hardware kept to a minimum so there is little to break. It is also still rare in Europe, which is reason enough to bring it to Barcelona.
The first CIE pieces arrive in Barcelona with Supply 001, in Oct 2026.
