How we work

The details on each page come from the people who make the thing. We publish them in the same order for everything of the same kind, and leave a field empty rather than guess.

Side by side

Because the order is the same, you can put two things next to each other and read straight across: what each one is made of, where it was made, what it weighs. If a line is empty on one of them, it’s because the maker hasn’t given it to us yet.

Shipping and returns

We keep delivery and returns on one page, so there’s only one place to read them: Shipping and returns.

Where we start

We spent years in retail selling well-known names, and watched some of them keep the price long after the quality had gone. After a while you learn where to look: the corners of a bag, the end of a zip, how a strap is fixed, the small print on the back of a bottle. That’s where we start now. Every page tells you who made the thing, what it’s made of and where.

For life in motion

Most of what you own has to keep up with you: across the city in the morning, onto a plane on Friday, through a wet week in November. We look for things that hold up to that and still feel good when the week is over. It might be a bag, a jacket, a pair of sandals or a scent you put on at the door. The category matters less than how the thing was made.

Supplies

Supplies are what you take with you: what you carry out the door, what travels in your bag, what you reach for between one place and the next. A supply is also a delivery. Ours arrive by number, each one a set of things we chose together. Supply 001 is the first, in November 2026.

The name

Acacias grow where other trees give up: in dry ground, in wind, in poor soil. Their wood is hard and close-grained, the kind used for things that are handled every day. One of them, the mimosa, flowers yellow at the end of winter along this coast, when little else does. We took the name for that strength. A sprig of it is the stamp on everything we send.

Purveyors of good things

That line is at the foot of every page, and we mean it in the old sense: someone who knows where good things come from and goes and gets them. Quality, for us, is what you can check: who made it, what it’s made of, where it was made, and the details that matter for that kind of thing, from the weight of a canvas and the hardware on a bag to the ingredients in anything you put on your skin. We publish those details as the people who make them give them, in the same order for everything of the same kind, so you can put two things side by side and decide for yourself.
